Swarovski crystals were born when Daniel Swarovski pioneered a special cutting machine way back in 1892. This machine was the impetus to establish a crystal cutting factory in Wattens, Austria in 1895. Daniel Swarovski chose Wattens because the city had hydroelectricity which enabled him to efficiently operate the crystal cutting machine he employed. Today, Wattens is home to the Swarovski museum which celebrates Daniel Swarovski, the history of his company, and his most famous crystal creations.

This campaign is designed to inspire you with ideas, concepts and products available to take your crystal creations to the next level. This promotion includes a website with numerous resources to help you get your creative juices flowing. It contains a unique design tool to help you visualize your creations before you start to make them, examples of designs, products to use, techniques for creating your handcrafted jewelry, and a very interesting complete timeline of the history of Swarovski crystals.
The Create Your Style program also incorporates into its promotion an annual design contest. Pure Allure and Swarovski invite you to submit your Swarovski crystal creations into one or more of the following design categories: Jewelry, Accessories, Home Décor or Paper Crafts. They urge you to expand the possibilities of your creativity and imagination in order to craft the most innovative crystal creation possible. Three categories of contestants are welcomed to compete; whether you are a professional, amateur, or student, you can submit your best into the contest. You can even use the design tool to produce a design rendering with product requests to send to Swarovski, and they will make every effort to send you the exact Swarovski components necessary to achieve your creative vision.
